Handmade Marketplace in the MIX

May 4th featured the Spring 2022 Marketplace at the MIX, featuring creations from students, faculty and staff here at GMU.  Featuring 22 vendors ranging from partner organizations at GMU such as the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship’s (CIE) pop up shop, featuring small farm, food and beverage retail pop-up featuring locally grown and produced items, and the Sustainabilities Office Greenhouse selling plants, and seedlings.  Also featured were individuals representing a mix of Mason faculty, staff and students featuring custom designed jewelry, candy, clothing and beauty items, and more.  Vendors represented GMU’s faculty, staff and student’s entrepreneurial spirit.

The goal was to help connect the Mason community to individuals and micro-businesses making a wide variety of hand-crafted, locally-made and small-batch items.  The MIX has been a contributor to the trendy and burgeoning field of custom creations and hand-crafted items, and works to foster the spirit of problem-solving and innovation displayed by the vendors and creators taking part in the Marketplace.
