Getting started with our Virtual Reality equipment

Anyone can check out and use a headset within the Media Lab. The basic requirements to use the virtual reality in the media lab is to take the Virtual Reality Workshop.

  • The MIX has several Quest 2 headsets that are available for standalone use, as well as a dedicated VR computer for programming and creation.

  • Training is required before use of the media lab equipment.

  • VR Headsets:

    (4) Meta Quest 2 wireless headsets

    (1) Rift wired headset

    Computers:

    (1) Dedicated VR Desktop computer

  • The VR Creation course uses Unity software. If possible, please download and install Unity on your laptop before coming to the workshop.
