Aspiring Inventors Club in the MIX
During Summer 2025, GMU Professors Dr. Lance Liotta and Dr. Marissa Howard, are instructors from the College of Sciences that have organized, facilitated and taught within the Aspiring Inventors Program (AIP). This program teaches high schoolers the basics of inventing, prototyping, and product pitching.
In the past 7 years of this program the students have developed real products that are patented and licensed. A key aspect of the program that they tout is touring the MIX and providing equipment training on MIX equipment then prototyping within the MIX Lab.
David Grossman, GMU Senior Director of the Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) served as a visiting educator and advisor on patents and the innovation process throughout the session.
The final ASSIP and Aspiring Inventors Club Final Poster Session, where students shared the creative processes and research that brought their ideas to life, took place Thursday, August 7th, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Dewberry Hall on George Mason University campus.
