Innovative Package Design with Digital Fabrication
This Spring 2025 semester, the MIX collaborated with AVT 417 Package Design in the School of Art to award the first iteration of the "Innovative Package Design with Digital Fabrication" Badge. Professor Ana Farnham’s students used a number of automation/fabrication tools in the MIX to design and implement a number of unique concepts for package design. Fifteen total students earned the “Innovative Package Design with Digital Fabrication” badge this semester, and produced innovative fabricated designs.
The Innovative Package Design with Digital Fabrication micro-credential badge recognizes students proficient in package design and fabrication using digital tools, material exploration, and professional documentation. Through MIX workshops, they master advanced techniques to design, create, and refine projects. Students integrate MIX equipment—laser cutting, 3D printing, and prototyping tools—into their work, demonstrating adaptability and innovation in sustainable packaging solutions.
